The trade addresses critical guard depth issues for Minnesota, particularly following the club’s Tuesday trade of veteran Mike Conley. Dosunmu, 26, brings immediate offensive firepower to the Timberwolves’ backcourt, averaging a career-high 15 points per game this season to accompany 3.6 assists and 3 rebounds.
Dosunmu’s Impact
The Chicago guard is shooting an efficient 51.4% from the field, 45.1% from three-point range, and 85.7% from the free throw line. Playing in the final year of his contract, Dosunmu is set to become an unrestricted free agent at season’s end, making him an attractive rental option for a contending team.
