T.K. Carter, the veteran character actor best known for his iconic role as Nauls in John Carpenter’s 1982 horror classic “The Thing,” has died at age 69. Carter was found at his home in Duarte, California on Friday, January 10, with no foul play suspected, according to law enforcement reports. The cause of death has not been released.

Carter’s acting career spanned over four decades, beginning in the mid-1970s. While his role as the roller-skating cook in “The Thing” remains his most iconic performance, particularly among genre fans, his extensive résumé demonstrates his versatility across television and film.
