Amazon has greenlit two seasons of the series, which will be helmed by Ronald D. Moore, the acclaimed showrunner, writer, and executive producer behind Outlander and Battlestar Galactica. The adaptation will draw from the Norse entries in the franchise, chronicling the journey of Kratos and his son Atreus as they scatter the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye, across the Nine Realms.
The production brings together a formidable creative team, with the series co-produced by Sony Pictures Television, Amazon MGM Studios, PlayStation Productions, and Tall Boy Productions. Production is scheduled to commence in Vancouver in March.
