Championship Sunday: Patriots, Rams Battle for Super Bowl Spots
The NFL’s final four teams take the field Sunday as the New England Patriots face the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship, while the Los Angeles Rams travel to Seattle to meet the Seahawks in the NFC Championship. Both games will determine which teams advance to Super Bowl LX on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium.
AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Broncos
The Patriots will look to upset the Broncos at 3 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+. New England has been the Cinderella story of these playoffs, defeating the Los Angeles Chargers and Houston Texans to reach their first conference championship game in years. The Broncos earned their spot with a dramatic overtime victory against the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round.
This matchup features two contrasting playoff journeys. The Patriots’ defense has been formidable, holding opponents to just 19 points combined across their first two playoff victories. The Broncos, meanwhile, have relied on strong home-field advantage at Empower Field at Mile High, where they toppled the defending AFC West champion Bills.
NFC Championship: Rams at Seahawks
In the NFC title game at 6:30 p.m. ET on FOX, the Rams travel to Seattle for their third meeting with the Seahawks this season. The teams split their regular-season matchups, with Los Angeles winning 21-19 in Week 11 and Seattle dominating 38-37 in Week 16. The Seahawks dominated San Francisco 41-6 in their divisional playoff victory, while the Rams edged Chicago 20-17 in overtime.
Seattle earned its first conference championship appearance in 11 years behind a dominant defense and a potent offensive attack. The Seahawks will have the roaring backing of Lumen Field fans against a Rams team seeking to return to the Super Bowl for the first time since their 2021 championship season.
Path to Super Bowl LX
Both championship games Sunday set the stage for Super Bowl LX on February 8 in Santa Clara, California. The AFC and NFC champions will face off for the ultimate prize, capping what has been an unpredictable playoff season full of upsets and dramatic finishes.
